About NBC.

Nashville Book Connection (NBC) impacts literacy by connecting kids with books they love to nurture their identities as readers — at home and in the classroom. NBC is a local literacy program that relies on book access at home, student agency, and student voice to meet individual literacy needs. Our intentionally-curated collection of new, diverse books offers windows and mirrors for young readers to see and be seen. Past and present partnerships include Carter Lawrence Elementary Magnet, Warner Arts Magnet Elementary, and Fall-Hamilton Magnet Elementary. Since Fall 2019, students have chosen nearly 5,000 NBC books to take home and keep. NBC nurtures reader identity as students uncover a sense of pride, passion, and excitement around reading, book ownership, and shared experiences.

Shop locally online or in-store through Fairytales Bookstore, The Getalong, or Parnassus Books. Arrange local delivery or pick-up options with our partners so you can donate your books in person at the event.
